A QR Code is a matrix code (or two-dimensional bar code) created by Japanese corporation Denso-Wave in 1994. The “QR” is derived from “Quick Response”, as the creator intended the code to allow its contents to be decoded at high speed. Many companies in Japan are using QR codes in there advertisements so that the people can easily access further information via there mobiles devices. The use of the QR Code is free of any license. The QR Code is clearly defined and published as ISO standard. QR Code can handle alphanumeric character, symbol, binary, and other kinds of codes. QR Code can hold up to 7,089 characters in a single symbol.

I believe that QR codes will revolutionize the barcode technology. Not only that. Individuals with strong need for privacy of their correspondence may find QR codes so helpful.
