Pidgin a multi protocol Instant messenger

Pidgin is a all in one internet messenger using this application you can log in to accounts on multiple chat networks simultaneously. This means that you can be chatting with friends on MSN, talking to a friend on Google Talk, and sitting in a Yahoo chat room all at the same time, if you have multiple Gmail ID you can log in this you will get single buddy list. More than a malty messenger it is a messenger which can customize with large number of Pidgin Plug-ins. This plug-in also help you to use other protocols. Pidgin can install on Linux, Windows, and other UNIX operating systems.

Pidgin installation for windows

First install GTK+runtime otherwise while installing pidgin it will ask for It

After this installation you can download pidgin file from here

Pidgin installation for Ubuntu

Pidgin Linux package you can download from here

http://file.softsea.com/Instant_Messenger/pidgin-2.7.1.tar.bz2

Downloaded file you can see in this folder /home/current user /Downloads/

Extract this file using this command

$ tar -vxjf pidgin-2.7.1.tar.bz2

You can install using this command

$ sudo apt-get install pidgin-dev
