I was searching for a solution to run android on my Nokia 5230. I found some YouTube videos with tag Android and Nokia. After a long search I found some solution to tweak the user interface of Nokia with an Android. Here are the steps to change Nokia UI to an Android UI on Symbian 60V5. Remember this will change only the User interface. You can always uninstall.
1. Download GDesk.rar from following link

2. Extract and rename the folder as “+GDesk”
3. Copy “+GDesk” folder to your phone memory
4. Go to +GDesk\Gdesk v0.33g Install SIS And install all applications, files listed below
GDesk.0.33g.SIS GDeskAgnViewS60.0.33g.sis GDeskClockS60.0.33g.sis GDeskInfoViewS60.0.33g.sis GDeskNotepadS60.0.33g.sis GDeskShortcutsS60.0.33g.sis GDeskTaskManS60.0.33g.sis
Normally Phone will not allow you to install GDeskTaskManS60.0.33g.sis. It will give following error
Certificate is expired
You have to sign the application and install it
How can you sign an application? Generate a certificate using this site and sign it.
Or try a self signing application using application called FreeSigner
5. Now run GDesk from your installed applications.
6. Tap your screen, then click on Design >> Load Design
select Android 2.1.gdd from your phone
Location : Memory card\+GDesk\Android 2.1.gdd
7. Now go to options and tick following option for better result
Replace Main
Full Screen
Hide title caption
Disable menu tap
It is compactable with Nokia 5230, 5800, 5235 and 5233

dude while installing taskman its showing “ËXPIRED CECRTIFICATE”…. downloaded freesigner from the link and tried , its showing “not compatible with your phone”…any body pls help….my phone is nokia 5230

Hey bro …its absolutly complatible with nokia 5230..
I have installed it and its working great..No issues..
Just do one thinkg; Go to “Freesigner”
Select that application from appropriate location and apply(click go) this certificate…
Then exit..and then u will see 2 same applications in the main folder click on the application which has an extention or last word called “signed”…then u can install the taskman application successfully…

do you have any idea to run android apps on nokia 5233? because i have found nokia 5233 apps requiring android on umnet.com to install like .apk………
an error is cmin while copying d gdd file in my nokia 5230..plz help guys

Just Uninstall above application using application manager. It will load your default GUI

sir am using 5800. i proceed as u said .But gdesktaskman. shows expiry certificate. i extracted free signer application in to gdesk folder in phone memory and after i tried to rectify the error.But the problem is not rectified…would you plz help me..

in my nokia 5233 . when i extract gdesk.rar than it show android 2.1.gdd not enough memory but other all files extract successfully..
phone memory is free upto 57 mb and memory card is free upto 450mb
i’m using nokia 5235 it is showing that it is not compatible for your mobile in 3rd file and free signer apps what i should do now?
does this process make the warranty void …??

Its easy to extract with the help of a computer. if you have any advance file browser like Explore, you can do it in your mobile itself

hey guys those who want to solve certificate problem go to the foolowing link dl.dropbox.com/u/2710268/freeSigner_V1.01_signed.sisx to download the freesigner app for ur mobile and u can sign the GDESK app from ur mobile itself………..i tried it on nokia 5230 its fully working………………………First download the free sighner app thn open it in ur mobile then tap on add task and then select the file u want to sign then it vl ask for 3 options
1. sign sis
2.self sign sis
3. remove sign
select 2nd option tat is self sign sis and ur app is signed and ready to use jst install nd enjoy

Nice post al.. But i think people want to install the Android OS on Symbian phones instead..
BTW,
to uninstall the app, restart the phone and go to Settings > Application Manager > Installed Apps > select all files whose names start with GDesk, select file and click “options” then click “Uninstall”..
Personally i prefer SPB mobile shell..
Although it doesn’t make your Symbian look like Android but does have the HTC touch to it, plus its a more stable and also has a a major touch of perfection to it..
If possible do give it a try..
