HP launches first Atom-based Moonshot servers. It is a blade server kind of concept with advantages of cost , power and cooling. Hope you already seen the custom Hyperscale computing designs of google facebook servers. Here in HP Moonshot Systems the individual Computers are bring in to a single 4U chassis. One 4U server is powered with 45 blades. see the image for understanding how the blades designed. when we compare Moonshot servers with the bladesystem design, Moonshot blades loaded from the top. Server have an inbuilt Network switch to interconnect all the blades. chassis have dual powerfully to powerup all 45 blades.
Where this can be used
This concept is useful where the applications need to handle Big data or distributed computing in the web / cloud environments. web farms and Apache Hadoop are great ideas to implement with Moonshot
